When I was making kraut many years ago I was very careful to not make it when
any of us who were working on it (three daughters) were having monthlies.
(I was told an Old Wives Tale that making kraut during this time would ruin the
kraut.) One time a neighbor girl came to help (we made a lot of kraut! LOL) and
she didnt admit to having her period at the time because she wanted to help.
Well the end result was I had a 25 gallon crock full of pink slimy spoiled
kraut. Anyone else have any similar experience?
