The grains are safe do not worry.   You have made
cheese and whey and the grains are still ok!!

If the result is too thick just drain the grains
from the liquid and add fresh milk.  Just
remember that the equivalent of 1 tbs of grains
should be used with 1 cup of milk and the
fermentation should last 24 hours and this way
you will have a nice creamy mixture to drink!!
