>> I should only be drinking 8 oz of it per day
I do not want to be disrespectful of your sister but that's just utter rubbish.
She obviously knows nothing about kefir and 'd better think of limiting her Coke
instead. You can drink as much kefir as you like. It's a drink for God-sake. And
tasty too. It's being drunk in Russia without any ridiculous restrictions and
more than, say, milk. I've been drinking that as long as I can remember myself
and my daily intake varies between 1 and 3 liters/quarts.
Thanks,
Vladimir.

Subject: [Kefir_making] How much is too much
Is there such a thing as drinking too much kefir (dairy)? I started
making and drinking kefir for the first time about a month ago. I
drink about a quart of it per day. I am the only one in the household
that drinks it. I brew it just long enough for it to get thick and
creamy and then it is strained and put in the fridge. I usually drink
from that batch 12-24 hours later. When I follow the tablespoon of
grains to cup of milk proportions, it takes about 24 hours. My sister
in another state was telling me that I should only be drinking 8 oz of
it per day. So am I overloading my system with all the probiotics?
Thanks for the input.
