You may be right. Our cows were jerseys. The milk was very yellow and one third
cream. So that is probably what I was smelling. We always had so much milk. Mike


Not necessarily.  I think the milk fat goes bad quickly.  When you pour the
raw milk, the fat clings to the sides of the jug, up in the air, and oxidizes
more quickly.  You may just be smelling the spoiled milk fat.  Even though it
may smell off when you sniff the jug, if you pour the milk into a glass and
sniff it, it will smell just fine, and it will taste good.
