Well, I use baking soda to scour sinks and countertops instead of
regular scouring products, so it is abrasive to some extent, but I don't
know if that means anything in regard to tooth enamel.
It is strongly alkaline, and strong alkaline can equate to caustic
(strong, caustic alkali has essentially the same effect as strong
corrosive acid) but also don't know if that applies to baking soda which
is a product refined from Trona ore. I do know the raw ore will burn
skin (my husband works in the only U.S. Trona mine).
