RE: Question about my new kefir grains
They vary in size and in ways that they clump together. Is what you have
holding together? Does a bit of it look like a miniature of the pictures you
have seen? If you squish a bit gently between your fingers does it smash
flat like cottage cheese does, or does it have some resistance to it? If it
does, then it is just small clumps of grains. The proof is if it makes
kefir, and only one way to find that out.

Subject: [Kefir_making] Question about my new kefir grains

So... I've never seen kefir grains before except on the internet. I
was expecting large, somewhat cohesive globules. But what I have here
is more like cottage cheese. Is this right and normal? I have no
idea what to expect.
