I'm not sure about this, but isn't the thing with Reverse Osmosis
water systems that they reduce the odor and taste of chlorine, but
that the actual chlorine is still in there? Could that be what is
hurting your grains?

Thanks for your concern.
The r/o watermaker does remove all chlorine and 99% of other things from the
water.
lol wish I could afford a whole house R/O watermaker.
